PATIOS DEL CANAL
Patios al Canal is a mixed-use residential building that explores the relationship between architecture, voids, and collective life. The project is conceived from a compact volume that is selectively carved, generating patios and shared terraces that structure the building and improve its environmental performance.
The lower floors accommodate mixed uses that activate the base of the building and strengthen its relationship with the public realm. Above, the residential levels are organized around a series of interspersed voids, creating a gradual transition from public to domestic spaces.
These subtractions are not conceived as a formal gesture, but as an architectural tool that allows light and air to penetrate deep into the building while introducing shared open spaces for residents. The patios function as places of encounter, extending domestic life beyond the private dwelling.
The project is developed through a modular system that allows for different housing typologies, all of them flexible and adaptable to changing living patterns. The façade is conceived as a regulable system, capable of opening or closing according to climatic and functional needs, reinforcing the idea of an adaptable building.
Overall, Patios al Canal proposes a permeable and porous architecture in which the void becomes a constructive element and collective life is integrated into the everyday experience of the building.
