The structure is a complex of buildings guesting residences for artists, workshops, exhibition spaces for public. It is located in Granada inside the archeological and museal fence “Meermsan”, next to the tipic neighbourhood of Albaycin. From this place is possible to enjoy magnificent views of Alhambra.
The ruin of of pre existence is the protagonist in the project. Its tracks guide in following main directions; it helps in defining the spatial configuration and marks the passage between inside and outside of the area.
The intervention is based on the creation of volumes inserted between the maintained part of ruin. These volumes interact one with the other creating a game of full and empty places. Moreover they define spaces half public and half opened.
New buildings establish a new connection with the ruin, based on contact and juxtaposition. Rilevant are the openings of views to privileged spaces of pre existence and to the garden which is as well a part of the project.
