ATMOSPHERE - University Campus & Viewpoint

UNIVERSITY CAMPUS
The new university campus is located in Nagele, The Netherlands.
The proposal’s strategy is to place simple geometries in the green empty spaces the campus hosts. The project’s light-weight architecture of elementary shapes resembles a greenhouse’s structure.
An innovative way of inhabiting is created by the means of stablishing different paths within the enclosed garden and gathering spaces for teachers and students.
Complementing these flexible and open common areas, there are sleeping capsules that provide the students with privacy. This capsule is a compact unit that enables the movement of gates and walls that shape the private space adapting to the student’s needs.
Lightness, green spaces and transparency are the key words of the project. A steel structure and polycarbonate panels shape and materialise the concept.

SKY-CLOUD
The campus also provides with a 50 m viewpoint: A concrete cloud floating over a rain of steel pillars. Two curved-concrete slabs create two opposite perceptions of space. The one on top encloses and provides a skywatch space. The one under it creates a falling vertigo sensation.
A perfect space for leisure and enjoyment of Nagele’s views.
