COMPLEXITY
The driving force behind my project has been the development of complexity.

This final project consists of a residential space, with approximately 30 housing modules in addition to communal areas, resulting from the combination of two previous experiments.

The complexity materializes from the very beginning through the choice of a modulation-based strategy. By using black straws, an X-shaped module is created, forming the core of the project, resembling a nest. As an additional element, red grid is incorporated.

The housing modules employ the same strategy, in this case, using curved elements, such as oval wire pieces.

All spaces are marked by a strong contrast between straight and curved elements, resulting from this final combination.
The floor plan and section take complexity to the next level. The outcome is a system with standardized housing units that respond to a new way of living. Each module features at least one bunker or niche, which the family unit could use both in daily life and extreme cases. Additionally, the flooring changes materials at certain points, becoming softer or even elastic.

The proposal aims to open minds to new forms of living, which may be distant from those we already know. This has been made possible through experimentation with complexity.
