The new "Los Dates y las Costas" center in the Juan Carlos 1 Park faces the challenge of bringing together the most diverse areas: an archive of objects that have been replaced by digitization and are now exhibited underground in museum format, workplaces and research laboratories.

The different functions are embodied by volumes that give dynamism to the rigid forms by moving and rotating along predetermined axes. The arrangement of the volumes also ensures a clear division: the visitor/worker arrives on the ground floor, which leads to the past (the subterrean museum) or to the future (the research center and office area).

The horizontal organization arises organically from the center, which brings everything together in a complex staircase and provides light to the core of the building. The free circulation of the interior is formalized step by step. The façade, as the outermost skin, closes the building with the greatest contrast to the interior through its absolute order.
