El antiguo vivero de Boadilla
The Boadilla plant greenhouse, closed years ago, was reclaimed by nature with trees, plants, and wildlife. Now, the municipality wants to replace it with an athletics track, sparking environmental controversy. My project aims to combine both ideas: preserving nature and building the track. I proposed a design that includes the track without destroying the greenhouse, adding sports routes through the vegetation. I installed devices that promote community engagement, combining sports and nature. These include a pollinator climbing wall, a library of books and seeds, and a lab with showers that recycles water. The devices, made from biomaterials like waste-based biocomposites and algae-based bioplastics, foster ecosystem circularity. Among the biocomposites, I used eggshells, coffee grounds, and aromatic herb residues, and the algae-based bioplastics serve as coverings for the devices. Thus, I transformed an abandoned site into a sustainable future vision that combines nature and sports.
