[entre olas y cumbres]
From the top of the mountain, the landscape of La Palma unfolds before your eyes in a stunning transition. Like an ever-changing canvas, this Atlantic island’s scenery tells a story of transformation as your gaze shifts from volcanic peaks to the depths of the sea.
The project proposes a new mode of mobility for both tourists and locals, offering an infrastructure that enables transport across the island. The cable car envisions the creation of a new scenic itinerary, linking the mountain, the city, and the ocean.
To make this route feasible, a series of structures are introduced that, as functional devices, not only house cable car stations but also offer complementary programs to support local development. These elements include [el roque], [la dársena], and [el faro].
By establishing three stations in different regions of the island, the project not only enhances and protects the landscape but also benefits the local population. The new infrastructure supports growth in three distinct environments: the mountainous hiking areas, the urban and populated zones, and the volcanic coastal regions.
The cable car project enables the seamless landscape transition of La Palma, showcasing the island’s natural richness and diversity. It is more than just a visual journey from the air—it is an experience that engages all the senses.
