Equestrian Proyect
The project is born from the relationship between horse and rider, and the desire to breed and live with this animal enjoying the landscape of the Canal de Castilla.

In the town of Grijota, in the province of Palencia, the encounter between the three branches of the Canal is located, which becomes a reference point in the landscape, confluence and crossroads. The intervention takes place on two of the edges of the meeting point. On one bank, the footprint of the pre-existing is cleaned and occupied to build a singular hotel with twelve rooms for horse lovers, and on the other a new arrangement of the territory in which to locate equestrian tracks and a lodging curve for animals.

The hotel is built on the ruin of a flour mill, a factory and a warehouse, which are sewn by the twin of successive and ascending atria that reproduce the stepping of the locks. The ground floor is an intern from north to south and is traveled by horse, while on the upper floors is the accommodation of people.

On the north bank of the intersection between branches, the horse accommodation curve becomes a lookout point towards Palencia, towards the southern branch and towards the equestrian tracks. Water, topography, pastures and vegetation will be the main agents of the intervention.
