Infections resistant to antibiotics will outweigh the deaths and costs of the other epidemics we know. The research for the universal vaccine is installed in a technical laboratory complex in the quarry, La Belonga in Asturias.

The architecture will work under the premise of healing a wounded landscape and eradicating the new pandemic threats of the future.

Attending the study of the landscape, a building consisting of two bodies is proposed.

The basement, where the land acts in pla, with public uses, is structured with the stone logic of the quarry and its organization makes reference to its history

On the other hand, the land acts on the building in section on the upper strata, hosting the laboratories.
Its general volume moves on the East-West and North-South axes, following the slopes of the mine.
With the aim of contrasting with the quarry, its structure is metallic and light,
The organization of spaces responds to the technical functionality of the program, incorporating patios and terraces, for an optimal work atmosphere.

The two volumes are separated by oblique pillars, creating a wide access as a covered plaza that opens onto the landscape.

The upper layers are wrapped in a three-dimensional waterproof capsule that seals and protects the building and its specific program. The mineral reflections of the quarry on the facade, achieve the mimicry with the environment.
