HEIGHT
The project we undertook in the course was located in the iconic favelas of Brazil, where houses resemble stacked, colorful boxes nestled in a network of narrow and winding streets. In this context, "Height" emerges as a distinctive structure that stands out in the favelas by being vertical.
This innovative tower consists of two main components: vertical elements that serve as single-person dwellings and horizontal elements that create common spaces. The connection between these pieces is achieved through an internal staircase that links the common areas and facilitates access to the residences.
"Height" not only uniquely integrates into the favelas by efficiently utilizing limited spaces but also challenges the conventional perception of small spaces. The project has led to creative exploration and the adoption of new innovative ideas in space creation, shifting the designer's perception towards the possibilities that can emerge from seemingly restricted structures.
