La Llegada
THE ARRIVAL of the Metro to the Ramón y Cajal Square turned this space into the gateway to the Madrid university campus. The existence of an unused underground five floor structure over the Ciudad Universitaria metro depot, which happens to be a car park, next to the the metro station with a daily flux around 20000 passengers per day, set the basis of the intervention. The underground structure will be reused and the metro station will be extended, turning the way out from the 24m below ground station towards the exterior into a promenade, a promenade that is a university showroom.
