Living the barrier
The project aims to pay tribute past, present and future of the city of Toledo, recovering its most elementary tipology and build an ARCHITECTURE FACTORY, which will teach the values of manual and industrial work, and it benefits from the surrounding constructions handed down from other era.
The new architecture school is located in an abandoned area of the Castilla-La Mancha University Campus, in the old Weapon factory. These buildings have no use and their open and fluid plan typology allows any new purpose. The project is planned as a sensitive and non-invasive restoration of certain selected buildings, with small interventions in each one of them that fit in the ensemble. The new school is formed with these old industrial units and a series of new buildings, which SEW UP the whole group.
