The site of the project is located in la Ciudad Universitaria, near el Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural. The project is oriented to the west because of the beautiful view of nature. The project itself is a mat-building designed particularly for student athletes.
The mat is formed by repeating the combination of two houses. And, public squares are obtained from subtraction of the houses. Due to the fall of 15 meters of the territory, a series of terraced platforms is built to adapt the topography. There are also extension on the side to generate more public space for colective activities. The circulation is very adpatable. There is street below each row of houses which has access to every house and streets perpendicular throughout the whole site.
The house is for studentes of INEF who are also athletes. It is a house with a patio and has two floors in order to adapt the terraced platforms. What else, it used a sistem of equipped walls to organize all the spaces and leave more free space for athletes to do activities with liberty. Furthermore, the visible structure of beams and walls as well the distribution of spaces follows a strict modulation which exists in the house. Finally, a strategy of solar protection is applied to adapt the climate in Madrid. For example, improved ventilation with the patio, mobile elementes used in the patio, etc.
