Nu_Be
Nu_be is a "chiringuito" in Playa de Bolonia, Cádiz.
This place is special because it is formed by the action of the east wind. The chiringuito finds its place in the end of an existing wooden path being and extension of it.
Nu_Be has to different parts.
The lower part is linked to the place, its weather conditions and the incredible different views: the sea,the dune, the trees that hug the dune and the roman city which is in ruins.
This part tries to take advantage of this wind by the concave-convex geometry. The walls picks up the east wind and it is transformed into wind energy by activating propellers, and in the other orientation we find the uses divided in 3 parts, protected from wind and sand.
One of the parts has a little scenario for parties in the beach and it has views to the sea. The middle part redirects our views to the Roman City and to the dune and it is the cafeteria. Finally we find a space whose function is to clean the sand of our clothes and it looks to the trees.
The server spaces are contained in the walls, which become wider so they don't interrupt the different views.
The higher part allows us to inhabit the air, which is the main theme of the course. Its a giant hammock for everyone and it let us to recover the view of the horizon and the sea and give us another perspective of this amazing place and another way of living the project. It is a double mesh that provides shadow to the lower part and its structure is formed by masts that are stuck in the sand and tensors that make it stable.
This mesh is changing all the time because the weight of people, and it compresses more or less the lower part, finding here the relation between the two parts of the project.
