Thousands of pilgrims walk the Camino de Santiago every year. This project is based on the creation of a transportable space where the pilgrim can sleep along their route.

The portable cart consists on a foldable auxiliary accommodation that will be attached behind a bicycle. It is based on an origami-inspired structure that allows it to be folded and unfolded to obtain a minimised space when in transit, making transportation as aerodynamic as possible. The cart also features multiple positions depending on the different needs of the pilgrim along their journey.

From the accumulation and repetition of cart modules emerges a new temporary and fleeting lodging that will serve pilgrims to stay once they have arrived at their destination, Santiago. It will consist onindependent modules supported by tensioned cables that will fly over the cloister inspired by the botafumeiro, creating a small elevated city for pilgrims. These modules will also be foldable, depending on the desired use. Private and individual spaces will be created within these modules, and public spaces will be created on the cables that serve as a pathway to them.

A project that floats over a stone-made city, facing the solidity of the Cathedral of Santiago.
