QR show
QR Show is a stage made up of a sequence of empty squares that, as they rotate and increase in size, begin to generate architectural space. We began developing this project from a series of line drawings of portraits. I chose to work with the portrait of "The Girl with a Pearl Earring", drawing inspiration from a topographic landscape.
From this line drawing, we created a collage in which I aimed to build the topography using layers of cardstock. These layers, stacked one over the other and transitioning from dark tones to white, gradually shaped the topographic silhouette of "The Girl with a Pearl Earring."
Following this concept, my model was designed to evoke a topography. The sequence of cardstocks, each with a hollow square that increased in size, began to shape the space of the “mask.”
Finally, from this “mask,” I decided to develop a piece of scenographic architecture. Using a series of simple platforms, this idea evolved into what is now QR Show.
