RAÍCES
During all this course we have placed ourselves in different places of the world, creating three projects born from the place in which they are situated.

-SOMBRA DEL POETA: House located on the western side of the River Nile, dedicated to Lorca,. There is a symbiosis between the symbology of his poems and Egypt. Everything is marked by death, water, sky, moon, sun and Earth.

-ANATOMÍA DE LA DUNA:. The project starts from a previous study of the Pyramids of Dashur. The first mockup was made with vertical contours to create a homogeneity in the terrain. The project is based on walls. These are used to translate the topographic circumstance of the place, these pieces divide the space providing spatial transitions. They also facilitate the perception of the relief to the visitor, achieving interaction between the walls and the territory.

The museum is constituted by the shapes of the contours of the place where it is located. Tours leading to the different rooms are created: reception, exhibition, services, research rooms and cafeteria.

Due to the circumstances, our home becomes part of the last layer of our external skin, it is proposed to dream of an isolation space from the experience of our home, taking into account the absence of relationship with the exterior.

-RAÍCES: project carried out on the rooftop of a single-family house, located in the north of Madrid, between the 4 towers and the Monte del Pardo. A preliminary analysis of the roof shows the development of the city, of the urban limits. There is a contrast between the rigid edge of the asphyxiating city and nature drifting. This causes a division of the landscape unity.

After long conversations with my ´yaya´ during the quarantine, we agreed in our desire to feel the earth, to take care of her beloved garden that she has not been able to maintain because of the Covid 19.

A proposal is created to promote the dialogue between cities and rural areas. The desire to blur the border grows, forming an urban-rural encounter. Meeting spaces are proposed on the rooftop, fundamental sources for community development among neighbors, increasing socio-ecological identification. To do this, an investigation of the sun and shade on the roof is carried out throughout the year, together with a study of the planting and harvesting seasons and the planting frame.

A major problem is identified, the disconnection of the north-south zone, since to pass from one area to another it is necessary to pass through the access spaces to the roof.
To create continuity in the transverse axis, the strip of walls is used and to achieve continuity in the longitudinal axis, windows are installed in the old walls. There is a reuse of the rooftop access rooms creating both a one-person space and a room for the storage of tools and cultivation workshops.
