Rest area
This project lies in creating a space from a chair. My election was the "Benetton chair" which is caracterized by the continuity of the estructure, its curved shape and the colorful net that conforms the seat.
The project requirement was to create the space inside of a box which measures were 4'45x3'15x8'91. My space is created by changing the scale of the chair, the seat has become bigger in order to obtain rest areas were people could lie down.
My proposal is a rest area or break room for employees of an office building. The relation between the estructure (created of a pile of 5 chairs) and the box is one of the most important parts of my project. Inspired by Matta-Clark and his "building cuts", I realized some cuts in the box in order to create the different acces to the rest area.
From the chair,I obtained a chill-out area were employees can take a break.
