Scrap recycling plant
The project is about the industry, especially the metal scrap industry, that collapses the area of the Pasajes port that is between San Juan and Lezo. The project does not intend to change the use of the area, but its dynamics. A compact volume is proposed, which acts as a recycling plant, but also allows having offices and other spaces necessary for the operation of the plant. Other types of more didactic spaces are also proposed where we can teach what and how it is done inside the plant. The technology marks the functioning of this new functional machine. The facade is made of polycarbonate, which allows creating a greenhouse effect to be able to take advantage of the maximum solar radiation in winter, and reject it in summer. The enclosure also allows us to observe what happens inside the volume, when it is outside the proposal, which gives the project its own character, different from the ships of the current industry. They try to use the most modern and cutting-edge technologies, to try to reduce pollution to the maximum, as well as achieve greater efficiency. The new plant distances itself from the known concept, providing a new vision on this type of industry, more current, transparent, and full of plastic and compositional issues.
