Sound
Madrid, 2018. El Faro de Moncloa is going to be replaced by a new tower, based on the idea of air. The project is inspired by how the air in movement is transformed into sound inside a flute. It is proposed a cylindrical tower, which plan is organised between different non-concentric circules. Each resultant cylinder is perforated with circular holes that produce sound when the air passes through them. Holes from different cylinders do not coincide exactly, they are slightly overlapped. The tower is built with cylindrical steel trusses recoated with steel sheets, supported by a concrete basement.
