The Crack
The project is born with the aim of seeking a retirement and evasion from an overcrowded and organized city, towards an isolation and spirituality place far from the daily life.

Due to the Macael’s terrain inequalities, plain zones have been searched for the development of the project. “The Crack” has been placed saving the unevenness that interrupts the connection between two valleys.
The project is based on enhancing the buried marble that represents the beautifulness of the place. Hence, the project is dug down under the surface to find that hidden marble.

It is organized in a hexagonal polygon structure that builds a skeleton of inner passages which serve as connection points and access routes between the different modules of the hive.

Some of the modules hide in their insides constructions placed at the top of solid rocks, which access is made through perimeter ramps that die in a big court placed in front of the apartment.Three different types of apartments are designed, with common elements that adapt to the construction materials of each type, producing three unique models.
