Vertex Towers
Vertex Towers represents a new model of living in the air, at height. Surrounding the Vaguada and resting on key points of this memorable location in the city of Madrid, triangulations of bars joined by trusses rise, forming a vertical structure from which nest-like homes hang, offering an innovative living experience.
Communications are provided on three levels: on the one hand, to move from one tower to another, one can use the system recovered from the Madrid cable car, or the walkways meters high, full of leisure and community activities. At the top of the tower, travel is via a Ferris wheel-like system with cabins that executes a continuous, uninterrupted movement, from which one can disembark at the stop of their choice. Finally, at the top of the nest, users can ascend or descend to their homes via an elevator or a staircase that weaves an interesting path along the exterior surface of the nest through the main structure of the tower. Throughout the project, the concept of triangulation is constantly considered, a technique that, within its structural rigidity, offers a wide range of compositional and functional possibilities. From the overall geometry of the infrastructure to the design of each bar, including the slopes of the walkways and the interior design of each apartment.
Despite their monumentality, these towers are not intended to be iconic: they are intended to be a landscape.
