CHAMARTIN´S KINDENGARDEN
OUTDOORS SCHOOLS

Outdoor schools are those where the classroom space is doubled in an outdoor space. These spaces are gardens where it is possible to transfer all those activities that are carried out inside, giving more dynamism at the time of the teachings.
This makes it possible to create a better working and learning environment for children due to their closer connection with nature escaping from the traditional teaching system.
A curved geometric system is designed with the idea of using the circumference as a base figure and proceeds to the geometry of the curves with known radius and their tangents.
On the ground you can see the curved system reflected, creating elevations and depressions in the topography in the concavities of the curves.
On the ground floor all the singular spaces are concentrated, which arise through a conceptual collage, and which will later materialize in a model. The ground floor works as a large gallery that expands and contracts, defining the different spaces, playing with a diffuse inside outside.
All this is limited by a first transparent skin that differentiates the interior with the exterior.
Singular spaces have their own skins that define their interiors, the first translucent skin, allowing light to pass through, but without allowing a clear view of the interior. The second skin can darken the space, if necessary, in addition to creating smaller rooms for simultaneous use of said space.
Ordered by a grid of pillars whose axes coincide with the joints of the polished concrete slab.
On the first and second floors, the classes and their gardens are concentrated in the convexities of the perimeter. They follow the same principle as the ground floor, a continuous gallery that varies in width, as well as presenting some setbacks with respect to the lower floor to accommodate one of the gardens.
In the case of gardens, they have a circular quartering where the void between pieces is played with. These spaces are filled with soil so that vegetation can grow in them.
The classes start from a circular base and close with a spiral envelope, in addition to having several skins. From the inside out, we can find a thermal skin, one to darken and another to use as a light diffuser. And a last glass envelope with folding pieces to be able to double or move the classroom to the garden.
