Vösendorf, Viena

Within the area to be treated there are 3 independent intervention zones due to their relationship with the pre-existing environment. The proposed projects aim to establish the patterns to be adopted to define the development of a suburban area.

1. CO-CUBE_PRODUCTIVE HOUSING
The Co-cube project seeks to return the free and open space to the house, taken away by the current vertical buildings. The proposal is for a productive and self-sufficient city where circulation is distributed on two independent levels: public, open to traffic; and private, for pedestrian use by the community.

Two models of productive housing, widely successful in the 20th and 21st centuries, are proposed: the garage model, on the ground floor ( with 4 equipped walls) and the loft model, on the first floor (with 1 equipped back wall). A utility network using a market model sews the plot.

2. VÖSENDORF OLD FACTORY_COMMERCE AND CONSUME

The intervention is proposed in existing large retail buildings and their surroundings, occupied by parking areas. The aim is to generate a space dedicated to a new model of commerce as well as leisure and culture consume. The space is become a set of samples that can be used by visitors, and after its use, if they have had a good experience of the product, they proceed to purchase it online and have it delivered to their homes.

The process of the project is divided into 3 stages: deconstruction of the existing space reaching its structural framework and façades; recycling of the rubble to produce new materials; and construction of new spaces with these materials.

3.VÖSENDORF NEW FACTORY_MASS PRODUCTION

A system of productive warehouses located perpendicular to the highway is generated. The raw material goes through a production process in a linear way from the time it arrives by truck on the service road, until the final product that is obtained, on the opposite side, where a commercial facade is located.

The system of warehouses admits a great variety of different production lines, being the structure of 2 large trusses, which, acting as a separation between warehouses, serves the spaces with the necessary equipment. This leaves a central space that can be modified according to requirements.
