NET, created to address the problem of massive plastic pollution in the water in Iloilo, Philippines. The project is based on environmental, social and political research on the amount of plastic in Philippine waters, as well as the study of at-risk slums and natural disasters.

NET proposes different programs to address the problem:

Diving Center: this is a space that promotes cleanliness, disinfection and water use by the inhabitants of Iloilo. It also aims to spread knowledge about the local marine flora and fauna.

Mangroves: A protective mangrove barrier is created to protect marginalized barangays (communities) at risk from tsunamis and other natural disasters. These mangroves act as a buffer without disturbing the Philippine palafitic constructions.

School: A school is built with connections to the artificial islands, providing an educational environment with greater privacy and connection to nature for the children.

Cultural Center: A cultural center is established to promote citizenship and environmental education. It offers courses on plastic transformation, recycling and sustainability.

Plastics Factory: A system of mass collection of floating plastics in the sea is implemented, using trawl fishing nets. These plastics are subsequently recycled.

NET seeks to address the problem of plastic pollution in the water in Iloilo by implementing programs such as the Dive Center, mangrove protection, construction of a school and cultural center, and collection and recycling of floating plastics.
