We are in Morocco. Africa. Three projects for three unique places. An oasis with shelter for Erg Chebbi desert, a visitor centre and theatre for the gates of Fez, and a tea house in the tanneries of Chouara.

E1_ In the desert, a place whose beauty lies in its radical nature, where almost nothing exists and which humans cannot control, the question is no longer "how to build in the desert", but "how not to build in the desert",
Thus, the project is based on a strategy of building with what already exists: with sand and wind. Through the construction of vaults with sandbags, the action of the wind over time covers the structures.
The repetition of these vaults in the form of an open courtyard creates the rooms and common areas of the hostel around the perimeter. Finally, in the centre, an oasis protected by the sand structures.

E2_ In a place where hundreds of years of the construction and development of Fez meet, at the encounter of the axes of the gates and of the direction of the Sahara, a manifestation of the history of the city is erected. A pure obelisk with eyes for the palimpsest, for the endless constructions and deconstructions of the city.
On the ground floor, the entrance and the information office. On the first floor, a theatre on the heights, with the complexity of the medina as the most beautiful stage to be seen. The path continues through the exhibition areas up until the roof, where the skies are celebrated, with a view of the ancient Fez as a gift to mankind.
The tower is built in a mixed structure, in which prefabricated pieces of rammed earth enclose a structure of beams, pillars and concrete slabs. An adaptation of traditional techniques in an attempt to reach the clouds.

E3_ In between the endless alleys of Fez are the tanneries of Chouara, a piece of entrenched and embedded civilisation; a vital part of the functioning of the city's complex organism.
And for such a unique place, an ordering gesture: 50 metres in diameter, 3 metres wide. A ring with a delicate fabric cover that rests on the tanneries and makes infinite what is already endless.
A structure that provokes, that interferes, but above all allows. It allows new perceptions, new views, new paths and new discoveries. It allows the human being to walk in the skies, to touch the clouds and to approach the stars.
A contradiction, a challenge to gravity that nevertheless takes us to infinity.
