Productive village
“Productive villages of to-morrow” is a model for possible architectonic intervention for the abandoned territories of the Spanish rural landscape. Based on research of new technologies applied to agriculture, the project aims to anticipate the technological revolution of agriculture in order to lead to an update of the rural world.
Bercimuel, a small village in the province of Segovia is the place chosen to develop the new social, economic and architectonic organisation. Three main activities are proposed: vertical farming in hydroponic towers, logistic display for the new technologies and renewed spaces for investigation, education and management of both intensive and extensive agriculture.
The architecture displayed creates a new, productive and hybrid landscape in the rural environment based on the interrelation of activities, generating unexpected associations and taking advantage of the synergies produced to create unique and original public spaces.
