Puerto–Ciudad Catalinas Norte
In collaboration with Álvaro Ramírez Terrero and Emilio Prado Rodríguez.

Catalinas Norte, the financial district of Buenos Aires located in a privileged spot facing the port. But as any other financial district it becomes a ghost city when the night arrives.
The project aims to change this paradigm by densifying the port, turning it into a small city that can function by itself. With a gradiation of programs depending on how far you are from the skyscrapers and how close to the port a clear strategy is implemented.
A series of stripes elevates from the ground floor to avoid blocking the public space and roads while connecting the port with the financial buildings. Inside these stripes smaller size programs can be found such as housing blocks, commerce, public services and energy storage units.
At the same time, as if you were hammering nails throughout the project big pneumatic structures appear on strategic points. These structures, that resemble the functioning of a zeppelin hosts bigger public and cultural programs like libraries, auditoriums or botanical gardens.
The abandoned railway underneath the project is recovered by creating a new transport system that connects the port with the train tracks, allowing the movement of containers.
